Habitats

WHAT: We have been reading about Habitats

SO WHAT: My group has been reading about the desert habitat and I have learnt that some deserts are freezing cold and and most people live in huts made of animal skin called yurts and a place called Death Valley can reach up to 57 degrees Celsius.

NOW WHAT: I wonder how animals could live there

How long does it take for animals to migrate to a water source?
Why are some animals born deaf/blind?

Writing

WHAT: I have been involved in a range of writing experiences.

SO WHAT: This year for writing we have been given lots of opertunities to write about so many things. We have written camp letters to the parent helpers, multiple sets of instructions, using cards to write about things like your favourite animal to writing about what you want to be. We also have a awesome writing system that allows us to write whatever we want.

NOW WHAT: My next step is to get better at writing for certain audiences

Run Bike Run

WHAT: I competed in the Kauri Run Bike Run this week.

So What: For the Kauri Run Bike Run this week I competed in the teams race with my friend Siobhan. We decided to practice the course on Sunday the day before the event so we were prepared for what we had to do. On the day my favorite part of the race was watching Siobhān do a massive catchup at the very end of the race and my worst moment was when my chain came out while I was waiting for Siobhān to tag me. Our final result was fifth in the teams overall but we were the first girl team.

Now What: Next year if I am her I would like to try and beat the score that we got this year.
